Uncharted 3 is one of 2011’s most anticipated games, Naughty Dog wants to top the second installment. With the added effect of 3D, Drake’s adventures will be more exciting and cinematic than ever. But there’s one problem with this feature, the average gamer doesn’t own a 3D television. So the question is, will gamers buy a new TV to experience the best version of the game? Keep reading after the jump.
Spending thousands of dollars to experience a $60 game in 3D sounds crazy, still this could be the game that pushes a lot of gamers over the edge. Uncharted 3 isn’t just another game, it’s the game to beat, the one game that truly matters this year if you’re a PS3 owner (the series is worth the price of the PS3 alone). Also, it will open up a world of 3D gaming, since Sony are really pushing it this year.
Naughty Dog said that the 3D aspect of the game isn’t tacked on, they built the game with it in mind. This means it will probably have some of the best 3D in gaming. Graphically, the Uncharted series is the best looking game on consoles—now throw 3D into the formula, things could reach an all-new level of enjoyment.
Personally, I’m conflicted, I would love to go out and buy a 3D television for this game and the many others that will be using it. The only thing that’s stopping me is the need to wear those goofy glasses. See—I already wear goofy glasses, I don’t need another pair, so I’ll miss out on 3D until it doesn’t require an extra pair of specs. In the meantime, I’ll have to stick with the 3DS for my three-dimensional fix.
So, would you buy a new TV just to experience Uncharted 3 in 3D? Wait—I just realized something; you could check Chloë out in 3D, wow! I might have to reconsider what I said. This changes everything, again…
