EA wants to turn Need For Speed into a movie. Yes, think about that for a second–do we really need another Fast and the Furious Clone? Hell no, we don’t even need a sixth installment of Fast and the Furious. Also would this even appeal to gamers? The games aren’t exactly known for their amazing plots, which brings me to my third point. Since gamers will ultimately ignore this and the mainstream moviegoer has no idea what NFS is, why would a studio pay seven figures for adaptation rights? Here’s an idea, just take that money and make a generic racing movie. The results will be the same, you’re welcome Hollywood–I just saved you millions.
