Gamers have been asking for a female lead in the Assassin’s Creed series for a couple of years now, and some thought AC3 would finally put a lady assassin in the lead role. Well, we got Conner instead — but all hope isn’t lost. Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation was outed today in the latest issue of Game Informer (via NeoGaf), it’s a PS Vita game and it features a female assassin named Aveline.
Her heritage is french and black and the game takes place in New Orleans between 1765 – 1780. The big easy will be explorable in it’s entirety, the gameplay stays true to the AC name, Desmond won’t be in this entry, and it’s due out this October (around the same time as AC3).
All of this has us excited — the PS Vita needs big titles, hopefully Ubisoft can pull this one off. Come back here during E3 2012, we’ll have more news on Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.
