Minor Spoilers Ahead
Sankarea had a great run, but now it’s time to say goodbye (I’ve already moved on to the summer anime, stay tuned). It certainly put a unique spin on the zombie genre; here are my thoughts on the last episode and the series.
This was one of those episodes were nothing really happened. The main story arc ended last week with Rea’s father allowing Furuya to take care of her while he’s in America looking for a cure. So the only thing that happens here is a few gooey scenes, fireworks, and a semi-truce between Ranko and Rea.
Still, I enjoyed the relax nature of this episode, there’s nothing worse than leaving fans with a major cliffhanger for a series that may never get a second season. Overall, Sankarea was one of the better anime of the season thanks to it’s unique plot, comedy, and Shaft-esque production values. (Rating: 9/10)
