Home Sweet Home: Introducing “Hearthfire” for The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Trailer Description: With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.

Hearthfire, the next official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE® on September 4.

I cried whilst watching this….. I thought it was an April Fool’s Joke done in August. I see no point in paying for this whatsoever. Farming materials in any game sucks, why would I do that for a non-MMO RPG where I am the only one who gets to see my own content come to life (literally). This makes me sad… maybe I am overreacting, but I would take Horse Armor over this…

It’s pretty damn weird, but some gamers may enjoy it.

A big house is cool, but in the middle of nowhere where critters can kill it? I’d rather buy a whole town
