PAX Heading to Australia in 2013

Penny Arcade’s ‘Gabe’ and ‘Tycho’ confirm expo is headed Down Under

PAX Prime is over for another year. While, as ever, there was news and there were exclusives at PAX Prime this year (like Aliens: Colonial Marines being shown) the news that sparked my interest most is the announcement that PAX will be, for the first time ever, leaving the shores of the United States and heading to the Land Down Under, Australia. While merely a comment in a press conference held by Penny Arcade’s Mike ‘Gabe’ Krahulik and Jerry ‘ Tycho’ Holkins, news spread and eventually it was confirmed here on Penny Arcade. They also mentioned that they would like the expo to spread to Europe soon as well.

Adding to the excitement for my fellow Australian PAX followers was the mentioning of the video game themed bar “Mana Bar”, located in both Brisbane, Queensland and Melbourne, Victoria. Tycho mentions the bar specifically here.

Even further to this (I’m getting all giddy now), it was announced by MCV Pacific (the Australasian arm of UK b2b publisher MCV) that Guy ‘Yug’ Blomberg will be joining the event management team for PAX Australia. (see article courtesy of MCV Pacific).

This hasn’t been confirmed by the PAX team, but could mean the Australian version may appear in the first half of 2013. There is a lot for Australian gamers to look forward to in 2013.
