Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Episode 1 Micro-Review

No Spoilers Ahead

I really like Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai’s premise because it’s something that almost everyone can relate to. For me the first thing that comes to mind when looking at old pictures is “What the hell, I thought that looked cool?” This is a feeling that this series’ main character Yuuta knows all too well.

Kyoto Animation did an excellent job animating this. It looks like a less serious version of Hyouka. But the comedy is what really got me hooked. Rikka is as strange as they come and Yuuta is justifiably uptight. The laughs don’t end once both of them are completely in character.

Definitely check this one out if you like hyperactive comedies, beautiful art, slice of life, entertaining opening and closings, and school settings. (Rating: 9/10)

    So glad you’re reviewing this~!

As I’ve said before, I think KyoAni really shines when they’re in their element, that element being slice-of life comedies with a tinge of drama. This is the first time in a while I’ve seen them IN said element, and I think that’s going to make this a very enjoyable show!

I agree, if they stick with the current formula this should be great.
