Top 5 Upcoming Game Releases (February 2013)

crysis 3

January was a solid month for gaming. It gave us DmC, Anarchy Reigns, and Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. That’s a decent line-up, but February easily tops it. The release calendar is packed with high-profile sequels, and there’s a little event happening on the 20th. Here’s Geek Revolt’s top 5 gaming releases for February 2013.

5. Aliens: Colonial Marines

4. Crysis 3

3. Rayman Legends

2. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

1. Dead Space 3

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Fire Emblem Awakening missed the cut, but they should keep PS Vita and 3Ds owners happy. What games are you picking up this month? Tell us in the comments.

    Prob Rising but we’ll see

    • Did you try the demo?

      • Camara Wilson

yeah the demo was great, i just hate the massive install size

  • Aliens, Crysis, and Revengeance for me. But probably not all at once, and not all on release day… too many games as-is, not enough money, and too little time, lol… ._.

Well take off Aliens and replace it with Sly cooper and I’d be satisfied I suppose since Dead space should just be what its first word is ‘Dead’ since all it is now is just a walkthrough game with barely anymore surprises once you play the first game through, Wii U is just stupid altogether IMO so Rayman on it, I have no opinion for it. Metal Gear although saddened to find out that it’s now being more a hack and slash game than the Tactical game it once was, even though I’m sure this game may have some of it in there Though honestly when you start slashing your foes, it just loses its edge but the game still looks decent even though they’re just pulling this along by a thread. Aliens altogether can go die after its last humiliating few releases. Crysis I have no opinion on as well since I never played the series so goody to those who likes it.

    • Did you play the sly cooper demo? It was a deal breaker for me.

      • What was wrong with it? I haven’t played it yes.

        • Sly is bad ass and so is his gf. I like the turtle gamplay. The hippo is lame as hell and the whole narative just got on my nerves. voice acting for the turtle and hippo kill me to listen to. Its too childish for me which is weird cuz im usually into games like that. I wish it was just sly you played as.

Yes yet with how the previous sly games have been in 2 and 3, they’re keeping true to how it’s suppose to be. The first game is still a classic when you get to play only as Sly but to branch out and go into more of the other 2 main characters who are with Sly the whole time throughout his heists, it’s only natural to keep going with it. I’ve played the demo all through its opening and find it’s still as good as it ever was. But that’s just saying it for the demo. I’m waiting for the actual release of the game to give my full opinion on because of the simple fact that even though a game you play a demo of is okay, there might be some mechanics they don’t feature that could either make or break the whole game wise. Personally I wish Sucker Punch would’ve done this game as well since they did very good jobs with the trilogy in the past. But then again that’s another of the ‘IMO’ marks so I shall wait one more day in hopes it gets brought out the midnight release of ‘Dead wasn’t-this-suppose-to-be-a-horror-game-after-the-second-game Space 3’.

    • >Wii U
Sounds like someone hasn’t tried it ever.

Dang straight and I doubt I will when I heard the review about one of its games from the Zero Punctuation man himself. Seriously, why make something that the Sony people did with the Vita to play games on your console already to just mimic it, when the nintendo people makes it more complicated to go with things like using the dang tablet sized controller to aim with a sniper rifle at the tv when it could’ve easily been done on the tv itself, or use the item box on your controller when you could have as what Zero Punctuation said himself, ‘Have Transparent Sticky’s on the TV’ when you have to look at the game on the tv and then your controller to see what items you got left. To me that’s a neck strainer and plus the fact with the low battery life, it just makes me think it wants to stay on a charger it has out for it, if you plan on playing for more than 3 and a half hours.

        • One of the games doesn’t speak for them all. Even you should know this.
And you’ll definitely be missing out on quite a bit, especially first-party titles like the next Zelda, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, and Bayonetta 2, plus whatever Retro Studios is working on.

  • Rayman Legends absolutely.
But what about Fire Emblem: Awakening?

    • It was a tough cut, but it’s mention at the bottom. I figured more people would be hyped for the console games. But if I was just going by what I’m personally excited for it would be at #3.

      • I actually just saw it after I made the comment.
But I’m looking forward to MH3U, Pokemon X/Y, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Two Brothers, Wind Waker HD, and a bunch of others.
