Minor Spoilers Ahead
Tamako Market continues to ignore its main plotline, but I’ll give it a free pass today. “Singing a Love Song” focuses on An and Tamako’s father as they battle with love. A set up like this had the potential to be cheesy, but here it hits all the right notes and never feels forced.
An’s little romance was sweet, but Tamako’s father’s story was absolutely touching. It showed a different side of him. I wish I could say the same about Tamako. Everyone else shows signs of missing her mother, but she remains as carefree as ever. This makes her character extremely one-dimensional.
Tamako’s lack of normal human emotions aside – this was a great episode. Now, can we get back to the bride/talking bird thing? (Rating: 8/10)
