Unreal Engine 4 “Infiltrator” Tech Demo Shows Off Pretty Next-Gen Graphics

Epic Games showed off this demo at GDC 2013. It’s not a real game — just something to demonstrate the power of Unreal Engine 4. They claim that it’s running in real-time (probably on PC hardware), but this should be possible on next-generation consoles. So, are you impressed?

I think the game demo looks good, but I’m not blown away. We’re seeing diminishing returns right now — the graphical jump between generations is becoming less noticeable.

  • I’ve always liked the Unreal Engine (along with CryEngine and, I guess, the Luminous Engine). But if there’s one thing that I hope gets fixed with this new update, it’s the infamous texture “pop-ins”…

    • I hope that’s gone too! I also want games at 1080p and 60 FPS, but I heard somewhere that developers will still target 30 FPS 🙁

      • Aw man, 30 fps? Damn, I guess there’s a reason behind it then, like for the sake of compatibility or something…
