Will the Next Xbox Be Revealed on May 21st?

Steve Ballmer

New rumors are pointing to a May 21st Next Xbox reveal. The Verge and veteran tech blogger Paul Thurrott are both saying the reveal has been pushed back to May. The original rumors had Microsoft revealing their newest console in April, but now it looks like that won’t happen.

Thurrott also thinks the Next Xbox will require an Internet connection.

“In this phrase, it says ‘must be internet-connected to use’, you know, that suggests that you can’t even boot into the UI and play—I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t have one.”

The May 21st reveal is later than expected, but the always-online stuff is what’s most troubling. Everything keeps pointing to this rumor being true. This would put gamers in a tough spot – would you buy a console that requires an Internet connection?
